Inspiring recovery through the experience of flight.
Kyle's Wish Foundation is the worlds only aviation-based experience that supports both the mental health and recovery communities.
KWF is inspired by Cliff's late son Kyle, who above all things cherished his time with friends and family. Kyle passed away from an overdose in June of 2020 but his giving spirit lives on through our work to keep those in recovery connected with their family and community.
We provide free flights into and from treatment for anyone seeking recovery for mental health and addiction issues – including drug and alcohol-related illness. KWF also provides free flights for family visitations while in treatment. We can bring your family to you so you can focus on recovery.
Kyle's Wish "Aviation Discovery Experience" is a program of self-discovery that may inspire someone to keep working towards recovery. This unique program connects those in recovery with the experience of flight, an aviation-based workshop and potential connections to work in the aviation industry.
Here we are landing Mooney N56928 at our home airport - Heritage Field, in Limerick, PA.
Don't give up – I have been where you are.
I am sober since June 6, 2014 and the father of a son who passed away at 26 while struggling with mental health and addiction issues. I understand the constant emotional rollercoaster. From pure joy to self doubt, the guilt and regret through the crushing sense of hopelessness and self-pity that keeps you in that dark place - isolation.
I lost everything. Including the trust and respect of my family. It was difficult to ask for help - to admit how powerless I was over my alcoholism. Just when I was feeling I had a handle on it all in recovery, my son Kyle died of an overdose. I looked to "flying with a purpose" to keep me from going back to the old ways.
My son was truly my hero. The grief that I carry is sometimes overwhelming. Yet I know he would want me to continue the journey that he started.
Today, I am most grateful for what recovery has given to me. A sense of belonging, accountability and hope.
Kyle's Wish is more than transportation. I focus on connections and understanding. On building the emotional strength needed to remain focused and positive through this journey.
Nothing can replace the family bond and nothing is more meaningful to a successful recovery.
